Hi guys, today a slightly more condensed video reposted from TikTok. In this clip I explain the concept of surplus enjoyment, Žižek’s critique of the ideology of ethical consumption, and why he’s wearing those sunglasses.
PS: I still believe it’s better to buy sustainable if possible. And Žižek himself says that he’s a committed ecological precisely because he critiques corporations that use it as a marketing strategy.
PS2: I know fair trade is about labor practices not necessarily sustainable, but this was recorded in one quick take. Hopefully you can still see the overall point.
