The kingdom of Punt was a powerful empire that was so rich in tradeable goods it became known to the Egyptians as the land of the gods – Ta Netjer. They described the kingdom in great detail on the walls of their temples, but kept its location a closely guarded secret. Hence, scholars have been trying to pinpoint where the Puntites lived for centuries.
